Cardamom Overnight Oats
Share
Cardamom is a natural in the morning — it turns plain oats into something that tastes like a treat. Baking or stirring cardamom into food usually means grinding pods and hoping the flavor spreads evenly. A drop of cardamom Elixir disperses through the whole jar, so every spoonful is flavored, with no gritty bits. The same trick works in pancake batter, muffins, and cakes.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or oat)
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 2 drops Cardamom & Green Tea Elixir (or 1/4 tsp ground cardamom)
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Banana slices and chopped nuts, to top
Instructions
- Combine the base. In a jar or bowl, stir together the oats, milk, yogurt, and chia seeds.
- Add the flavor. Add 2 drops of Cardamom & Green Tea Elixir, the maple syrup, and cinnamon. Stir well so the cardamom spreads evenly.
- Chill overnight. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours, until the oats are soft and creamy.
- Top and serve. Give it a stir, then top with banana slices and chopped nuts.
Tips
- The same drop works in pancake batter, muffin mix, or a simple cake — add it with the wet ingredients.
- Prep three jars at once for grab-and-go mornings.
- Swap yogurt for extra milk if you prefer it lighter.
Make it with: Cardamom & Green Tea Elixir.
